Have you ever imagined tech without women's contributions?
We did. It looked ridiculous.
Female inventors have created many of our phones' features—Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, the Call Button, contact lists, Caller ID, and even the microprocessor powering every smart device.
To highlight this on International Women's Day, StarHub—Singapore's second-biggest telco—created a dysfunctional, funny-looking phone missing all of women’s innovations. The result? A glimpse into how basic and boring tech would be without their touch and talent.
The Nobile phone launched on TV and social media, and on International Women's Day 2024, it was showcased as an actual device at StarHub's flagship stores—letting people experience firsthand just how much we owe to female inventors.
